I will add that when I attempt to launch Makerbot Desktop, Makerbot Conveyor Service does still appear in Task Manager each time.
Removed my anti-virus (temporarily) and turned off firewall settings. removed all other Makerbot software, deleted the C:\Program Files\Makerbot folder as well as the C:\Users\*username*\AppData\Local\Makerbot and the C:\Users\*username*\AppData\Roaming\Makerbot folders.Īlso while uninstalled, I removed one dangling registry file. While uninstalled, I removed all files and folders related to Makerbot (e.g. Uninstalled and reinstalled Makerbot Desktop using the same executable from 2 years ago and a fresh one from their website (it's the same file). Killed the MakerBot Conveyor Service in Task Manager and restarted it manually (tried this ad nauseum). Reverting to a restore point one day earlier (when everything was running properly) this was as far back as I could go, sadly.

Rolling back any and all updates from this past week, including software updates, driver updates, Windows updates, etc. Removed and reinserted the USB cable to the Rep 2X and tried running the software with or without the cable installed. Anyways, here are the things I've tried for Makerbot Desktop: I'll also add that Chrome also failed to open for me this morning (hinting at a potentially larger problem that's not isolated to Makerbot Desktop), but after reinstalling Chrome, Chrome is fine now. Replicator 2X can only use Makerbot Desktop, which is why I'm still running it. I'm curious to hear if anyone else is having the same issue that's still using this software. I use this for work daily, and this is the first time in ~2 years that this has happened. : Solved (at bottom), but it may or may not work for you.Īs of yesterday, I haven't been able to get Makerbot Desktop to open on my desktop PC.
